ADHD Assessments

We offer comprehensive ADHD assessments for children, young people and adults through our specialist assessment service Colley & Jones. Our approach is thoughtful, thorough and tailored to each individual. Assessments are carried out locally by experienced clinicians and follow best-practice clinical guidance.

Our aim is not simply to provide a diagnosis, but to help people gain a clearer understanding of how attention, focus and regulation are affecting everyday life.

Free Initial Consultation

We offer a complimentary 20-minute phone or video consultation to briefly discuss your concerns, explain the assessment process and help you decide whether an ADHD assessment would be helpful.

Assessment Fee

£800

This includes the full assessment process, feedback appointment and a detailed written report.

Our Assessment Service

Assessments are delivered through our shared specialist service Colley & Jones. We aim to provide a high-quality, personalised assessment experience delivered by experienced psychologists rather than large assessment teams or screening services.

Our work is:

• Bespoke and tailored to the individual
• Clinician-led
• Careful and evidence-based
• Focused on meaningful understanding and practical recommendations.

The Assessment Team

Dr Robin Colley – Clinical Psychologist with extensive experience supporting children, young people and families, including within NHS community paediatric services.

Dr Jonathan Jones – Consultant Psychologist with specialist expertise in neurodevelopmental differences including ADHD, autism and learning disability across both child and adult pathways.

Together we bring experience in:

  • ADHD across childhood and adulthood

  • Neurodevelopmental differences and overlapping presentations

  • Learning disability and complex needs

  • Formulation-led psychological understanding

  • Post-diagnostic support.

ADHD Assessment Process

Our assessments are designed to build a clear and balanced understanding of attention, regulation and daily functioning.

Initial Consultation

We begin with a conversation to understand the current concerns, background history and whether an ADHD assessment feels appropriate.

Developmental History

A detailed interview exploring early development, schooling, attention patterns, organisation, emotional regulation and everyday functioning. This helps us understand how difficulties may have developed over time.

For adult assessments this includes exploring childhood experiences and current challenges.

Questionnaires and Information Gathering

We may gather information from parents, partners, teachers or others who know the individual well. This helps build a fuller picture across different settings.

QbCheck Attention Assessment

As part of the assessment we may use QbCheck, a computer-based assessment that helps measure attention, activity level and impulsivity.

During the task the individual completes a short computer activity while the system measures patterns of attention and movement. The results provide additional objective information which is considered alongside the wider clinical assessment.

QbCheck does not diagnose ADHD on its own but can be a helpful part of the overall picture.

Clinical Formulation

All information is reviewed carefully and considered together. Rather than relying on one test, we look at patterns across development, daily life and assessment findings to build a thoughtful clinical understanding.

Feedback and Written Report

We meet with you to talk through the findings in detail and answer any questions. A full written report follows, outlining conclusions, recommendations and suggestions for support.

Our Approach

We aim to offer assessments that feel careful, respectful and genuinely helpful. Many people come for an ADHD assessment after years of feeling misunderstood or unsure why certain things are difficult.

Our goal is to provide clarity, understanding and practical guidance that supports the individual moving forward.
